California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass have committed President Trump for taking on jurisdiction with price tags with price tags tagged dramatically less than the bill’s taxpayers to pay for illegal immigration in the state.
“It’s just absolutely embarrassing to use taxpayer dollars that you can actually use to help people,” Bass recently posted on X.
“$134 million is supposed to go to recover from the LA fire,” Newsom posted on X. “Shameful.”
Many on social media responded to Newsom and Bass posts and commented on how illegal immigrants spent billions of dollars in California.

“Wait until you find out you have to spend trillions on illegal aliens,” Miller posted to X in response to Newsom.
“Now we will fund the $9 billion you emit from our state Department of Treasury to free health care for illegal immigration schemes.”
“Have you spent hundreds of millions on illegal Gavin? That’s perfect for hundreds of billions,” conservative activist and filmmaker Robbie Starbuck wrote on X.
A recent study reviewed by Fox News Digital shows that at least tens of millions of people spend annually on illegal immigrants.
The American Federation of Immigration Reform (Fair) cost analysis, facilitated by the House Budget Committee in a 2023 press release, found that in 2022, the benefits and services offered to illegal aliens reached more than $22 billion in California alone.
In a more recent cost analysis, FAIR calculated that illegal immigration services cost California taxpayers $31 billion a year.
A 2019 investigation from the Fair found that illegal immigrants who are being held in prisons through the court process exceeded $2 billion a year.
Earlier this year, Newsom sought $2.8 billion in loans to address the bloated deficits in state Medicaid programs, which exceed budget expectations primarily due to illegal immigration compensation.

Last year, California expanded its MEDI-CAL to cover all low-income adults ages 26 to 49, regardless of their immigration situation, and was able to do so first. According to state data, around 1.6 million illegal immigrants are enrolled in the state’s healthcare program, with 15 million California residents registered.
A recent study by Wallethub shows that California is almost the last in the country ranked in terms of taxpayer return on investment, in addition to the amount of taxpayers illegally spent on individuals in the country,
Wallethub examined state and local tax collections and compared them to the quality of services received in education, health, safety, economy, infrastructure and pollution. Golden State ranks 47th in US taxpayer efficiency.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, DHS Deputy Secretary Tricia Mclaughlin has returned to being a California Democrat. And it pointed out costs already estimated to millions as of Thursday, in terms of property damage, if not quickly suppressed by the federal forces.
“Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass ignore the high prices of mass looting, the destruction of La’s family business, public property and burning cars and other property,” McLaughlin said.

“President Trump will not stand up while these lawless mobs plunder and destroy the great American cities. Newsom and Bass should thank President Trump for providing additional support to restore law and order and stop the destruction of LA.”
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Izzy Gardon, director of Newsom Communications, said there is a “return on investment that Californians cannot refute when they have access to education and healthcare.”
“Taxpayers have zero returns so that Trump can blow your dollars $140 million, pull the troops away from the border and sit idle in Los Angeles while he cosplays as a dictator.
Bass’ office directed Fox News Digital to comments made by the mayor on MSNBC.
“We’re an immigrant city,” Bass said. “We have an entire industry that cannot even function without migrant labor. So this is terrible for families, but if this continues, it’s also a very strong blow to the local economy.”

Late Thursday, a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order Thursday directing President Donald Trump to return control of the National Guard to California.
The order, which came into effect at noon Friday, said the deployment of security guards was illegal and both violated the 10th Amendment and exceeded Trump’s legal authority.
The Trump administration appealed that the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals temporarily blocked the federal judge’s order several hours later.
The court said it would hold a hearing on the matter on June 17th.
