Newsom invites President Trump to California, urges him not to politicize ‘human tragedy’ and spread ‘disinformation’

California Governor Gavin Newsom has invited President-elect Trump to visit the Golden State to witness the devastation caused by the wildfires, meet with victims and thank first responders.

The governor’s message to Trump was released Friday as fires continue to burn in parts of California.

Newsom urged people not to politicize a “human tragedy” or spread “disinformation.”

“In the spirit of this great nation, we must not politicize human tragedies or spread disinformation from the sidelines. “Every American has a right to see us all working in their best interests to ensure speedy recovery and rebuilding,” Newsom wrote.

“Be respectful and generous.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Newsom’s office for comment Saturday, but did not receive a comment. The Trump campaign did not respond to requests for comment.

President Trump has criticized Newsom, even saying he should resign as governor.

“One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning down. It’s reduced to ashes. Gavin Newscome should resign. This is all his fault!!!” the president-elect tweeted this week on Truth Social. declared in the post.

In another post, Trump slammed “Gavin Newscam” and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass as “completely incompetent.”
