Newsom’s Office pushes back reports claiming 75% spikes at California gas prices by 2026

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Office is pushing back bills made in recent reports that California gas prices could surpass $8 per gallon by the end of 2026.

A report written by Michael A. Michet of USC’s Marshall Business School said it would represent the expected closure of the Phillips 66 refinery in Los Angeles and the potential for a three-year reduction in California’s refinery output, “which represents the potential for a 21% reduction in California’s refinery output over the course of three years.”

Pranks and other experts argue that the decline in refinement power is the main reason California drivers are consistently looking at the country’s highest gas prices.

“The estimated average consumer price for regular gasoline could be $8.435 per gallon from April 23, 2025, from $4.816 to $7.348 to $8.435 per gallon from April 23, 2025. Retail prices are expected to be even higher in counties such as Mono and Humboldt.

However, Newsom’s Office has exploited the scientific method of “speculation,” claiming that Mische is “bankrolled by Saudi Arabia.”

Apparently, all you need to do to make headlines these days is to use the scientific method of “speculation” to publish a “study” that has left the “study” by someone Saudi Arabia bankrolled…

We encourage reporters to review the source before lending the outlet’s credibility.

This is why checking the source is important. Author of this 1.5 page “Research:”

In a statement to KTLA, Mische has confirmed that he will work in Saudi Arabia, but said his work is related to a project called Vision 2030.

“The allegations are levelled for being a Saudi Arabian “agent” or “agent” on behalf of it or “bankroll.” You cannot go far from the truth. The allegations are essentially inaccurate and have no records. KTLA.

He said his Vision 2030 work involves piloting the Saudi economy from fossil fuels.

The prank also calls the allegations “perverse.” He shared that he offered the governor, or his staff or members of Congress the opportunity to meet him on the matter. He told KTLA that he would provide them with complete transparency into the work.

“We have not received direct outreach, and the governor relies on experts appointed to the Energy Commission, the Petroleum Market Surveillance Division, and the independent Consumer Fuel Advisory Committee.

Newsom’s office doesn’t just have one question on the report.

Consumer Watchdog announced Thursday that its president, Jamie Court, wrote that it asked the University of Southern California leader to investigate the mischief for violations of the university’s conflict of interest code after it refused to reveal its ties with Saudi Arabia.

“Recommendations from Mishe’s report are a treasure trove of tax subsidies and giveaways for both refinement and the oil production sector,” the court wrote in the letter. Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil company, Saudi Arabia, is interested in refinement in the US. There is no doubt that advocates of the pranks will benefit his clients. ”

“The University is receiving and reviewing the Jamie Court letter. Due to the secret nature of personnel, individual cases cannot be discussed,” a USC statement read.
