At night there is nothing more spectacular than the ocean. However, there is only one place you can go underwater after dark with jazz and cocktails (and no sand). This is the annual Pacific Ocean’s night dive aquarium.
This is your chance to enjoy the wonders of your children (this event is only available to those over 18). Deep’s unofficial portal in Long Beach boasts over 12,000 creatures, ranging from sharks to sea jellies.

As dedicated to education as entertainment, the Pacific aquarium has over 100 exhibits and 19 different habitats, including shark lagoons and sea otter habitats. Geographically organized, you can see sea lions, colorful tropical fish from the Pacific region, and various exotic creatures in the Gulf of California exhibits in the Southern California section.
Night diving allows participants to experience the aquarium in a whole new way. A good time jazz band and dim lighting will set you in all respects, highlighting creatures swimming around you. Events include DJs, art installations, food like smash burgers, tacos from local vendors, esquires and more.
All exhibits can save the forest of Lorikito for a walk. Night dives start at 7:30pm and run until 11pm, but the aquarium begins to dim the lights at 10pm, “ensures the animals sleep soundly.” And honestly, I’m not mad at someone who dimmed our lights at the house at the time, and we’re ready for beds.
There are two dives for the next night. The August 22nd event is already sold out, but the “Fright Night” event on October 31st promises to be a creepy and fun time. Tickets will be sold near the date.
If you can’t wait, there are plenty of exhibits throughout the usual hours, including the current sea stars, the entire exhibition space dedicated to the frogs of California and Baja, celebrating the sea stars.
