A 46-year-old Riverside County man who was ambushed by vigilante teens after allegedly providing nude photos of himself to a girl and trying to arrange a sexual relationship has not yet been charged. do not have.
Prosecutors with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office said they would not press charges against Homeland resident William Vandenbusch and referred the case back to the Sheriff’s Department for further investigation.
The Nov. 15 incident occurred at Nicholas Road Park in Temecula around 4:30 p.m., according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department news release.
Authorities told KTLA’s Shelby Nelson that deputies received a tip that the suspect was suspected of meeting minors at the park for “sexual purposes.”

“When officers arrived on scene, there were probably 20 other juveniles there,” said RCSD Sgt. Deidre Vickers told KTLA.
Many of the teens took out their cellphones and recorded the encounter, while officers detained the 46-year-old man and waited in the park for detectives to respond.

“The investigation revealed that Mr. Vandenbusch sent nude photos and agreed to meet minors for sexual purposes,” the release details.
Vandenbusch was arrested at the time on charges of sending harmful material to a minor, having contact with a minor for a sexual purpose, and arranging to meet a minor for a sexual purpose. He was lodged at Koibird Detention Center.
It is unclear whether the 46-year-old man has since been released or remains in custody.
