An Inland Empire-based nonprofit has rolled out a hotline to provide assistance to undocumented immigrants as President Donald Trump returns to office.
The TODEC Legal Center, which advocates for immigrant communities, said the purpose of the hotline is to inform illegal immigrants of their rights and serve as a means of reporting on activities.
A press conference was held on Tuesday to discuss the hotline and its functions.
“They have the right to remain silent, they have the right to see a judge, they have the right not to sign documents, they have the right to consult a lawyer,” said TODEC Executive Director Luz Gallegos.

The group encourages families with undocumented relatives to make plans in case one of their members is deported.
