The North Carolina Republican Councilman’s City Hall event got heated after the man who identified himself as a veteran and began screaming at him, “Don’t give me about me!” Before being escorted by the police.
The explosion unfolded Thursday night at the University Auditorium in Asheville during a rally hosted by Rep. Chuck Edwards, who serves the state’s 11th district.
“In my view, the debt crisis has been ignored for too long and is time to revise how Washington works. That’s why I was so proud to be able to vote for a House budget resolution that provides a framework,” he then said, “and why I wonder why people don’t want to do these town halls.”
After a while, a man in the audience began screaming at Edwards, “You have nothing to say, but you are lying. You are lying. I am a veteran and you don’t give me an f about me!”

“You can’t take away our rights,” the man continued screaming. “You can’t do this to us!”
The audience in the room was praised for the man being taken out of the room by law enforcement.
“You touch me again, I f— out!” the man said before leaving the area.
Edwards later said he has “a lively city hall in Asheville with my constituents.”

According to the Associated Press, around 300 people attended the 1.5-hour event, and Edwards answered questions on topics such as cuts that were tuned by Elon Musk’s government efficiency.
“Do you support the annexation of Canada or Greenland? And this is a yes or no doubt, I don’t want you to wander into the woods, I don’t want you to hear about your latest week in your office,” Edwards was asked by members of the audience who replied, “The short answer to that is no.”
Last week, President Donald Trump said “the ‘troublemakers’ who paid are attending the Republican town hall meeting” and “it’s all part of the Democratic game.”

“We may not agree with all the issues, but hearing concerns in western North Carolina and answering your questions will remain my priority,” Edwards said.
