New York Governor Kathy Hochul – formerly lieutenant governor under Andrew Cuomo – said Sunday that she had identified “areas of alliance” with the democratic and socialist mayor of New York City.
“Fox News Sunday” host Shannon Bream asked Hochul if she supports Mamdani, who is currently opposed to Cuomo and others, after stoking the candidates praise her for hosting Texas Democrats who fled the nation to block the GOP Redistricting Plan.
“We still have a lot of differences. I don’t know how you’re whitening it,” Hochul said. “He can agree with me, a lot of people can agree. I don’t think it’s just Democrats who are facing our rights. We do that. That’s what we’re trying to do. We’re fighters. I’m a Buffalo mother.

“There are a lot of disagreements, but there are areas of consistency, including affordability,” the governor added Mamdani. “You know, his elections touched nerves, and what do people know, we’re not moving forward, and make sure that they lift people up, cut costs, and create jobs rather than touching Medicaid.
As governor, Hochul said she already works with two different mayors of New York City, and she said, “I’ll continue to work with the people my voters want from me and I’ll make it work.”

“I’m not going to war with the 8 million New York residents I represent, so I’ll make it work. So my job is to calm things down,” Hochul said. “Let’s look at what the outcome of the election is, but we need to be sensitive to that, as the mayoral candidate has also gotten on the nerves. So I need to work with him to find a way to make life more affordable for New Yorkers.”
Hochul took on the role of governor after Cuomo resigned amid multiple controversies, and she was later elected to maturity.

After the major loss of the Democratic mayor in June to Mamdani, Cuomo joined New York City Mayor Eric Adams as another independent candidate running in the general election.

Adams and Cuomo are trading Barb about what they should drop out by November to improve the likelihood of Mamdani’s defeat.
