FBI and Port Authority police arrested a man at Queens’ JFK airport in connection with an investigation into the bombing of a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California last month.
According to two sources, the individual has been arrested in connection with a bombing on a federal arrest warrant from California and is scheduled to appear in the first courthouse this afternoon in Brooklyn Federal Court.
Investigators were looking for the individual to see if he helped provide material for the bomb, people say. Three people familiar with the issue say he is from Washington.
The main suspect was killed, and at least five people were injured when a car exploded outside the fertility clinic at a US reproductive center on May 17th.
The deadly bombing in Palm Springs appears to be driven by anti-Natalist beliefs, two senior law enforcement officials told NBC News. Authorities called it “a deliberate act of fear.”
