Exclusive: New York City Republican Councillor Inna Vernikov told Fox News Digital that voters in her highly Jewish district are “pettishing” about the prospect of socialist Zohran Mamdani becoming the city’s next mayor.
“This is someone who wants to globalize Intifada,” Vanikov told Fox News Digital. “I’ve never seen anything close to this in New York City. It has the largest Jewish population in America. They say Jews say they’re planning to flee New York City.
Mamdani has been widely criticized for his anti-Israel status dating back to his college days when he founded students of his school for justice in the Palestinian branch. Over the past few weeks, Mamdani has been criticized for her perceived modesty to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifadas.”
Mahmoud, Mahmoud, the father of Mamdani, faces scrutiny over past works and comments, including social media posts celebrating Israel’s “third intifada against settler colonialism.”

“Intifadas is a call for violence. We’ve seen what happened in the two Intifadas where people were killed. The innocent people lost their lives,” Vernikov said, adding, “If this man becomes mayor, there is a lot of fear in the Jewish community.”
Vernikov, a Jew, spoke to her district, said people from Fox News Digital were “pettishized” when Mamdani became mayor.

Many Jewish groups have come out with solid opposition to Mamdani’s candidacy. Human rights lawyer Brooke Goldstein told Fox News Digital earlier this month.

Vernikov has had problems with Democrats who have begun to support Mamdani. Mamdani could cause problems for Democrats if he wins in November, experts criticized him as “he is a Democratic candidate.”
“I’m interested, I have a question,” Bernikov told Fox News Digital. “If this Democratic candidate is like a member of the KKK or demands annihilation of the black community, they’ll still be behind him and behind him, and I think the answer is no, but that’s fine as far as Jews go.”
“So it’s really hypocritical, unacceptable, and disgusting, and they’ve supported him one by one. Democrats support anti-Semiticism on behalf of Jewish Americans every day.”
