Newou can listen to Fox News articles!
The New York City Jewish leader speaks about the potential term of Zoran Mamdani as mayor of New York City, telling Fox News Digital that he is concerned about the safety of Jewish residents and all New Yorkers.
Scott Feltman, executive vice president of one Israel Fund, told Fox News Digital that the Jewish community in the country’s biggest cities is not Muslims or religious figures running for office, but what they oppose is candidates alongside “evil actors” like Hamas and Hezbollah.
“He was just recorded at a local mosque, and the imams of that mosque essentially sought the death of IDF soldiers and praised Hamas’ efforts,” Feltman said. “That’s what we’re opposed to, and that’s a very, very, very realistic, serious concern.”
Feltmann pointed to the rise of anti-Semitic attacks in recent years, especially in New York City. He says, “It has caused a certain amount of fear in the Jewish community and it is a “real concern” that this particular candidate is making such an intrusion right now.”

Two Israeli embassy staff were killed in Washington, D.C. earlier this year by a man screaming “Free Palestine” in Boulder, Colorado, at the same time that Egyptian men targeted pro-Israel demonstrations, killing one and wounding others.
“I know that our organization is afraid of his staff every day who knows he has been called out by this candidate. I don’t know who is following him and what their interests and what their actions are. That’s a really serious concern.”
Mamdani, along with actress Cynthia Nixon, called out one Israeli fund in a post that Feltman responded earlier this month with an article from an American thinker.
“If you go out and combine yourself with terms like Intifada’s globalization, it’s basically an e-musical expression for killing Jews around the world, and that’s what it is, Intifada was an Israeli move to destroy the Israeli state 25 years ago, and did not discriminate against civilians or military personnel, Feltman told Fox News Digital.

“And when you want to globalize it, messaging is very clear to those who are listening and following, and it puts a lot of people in the Jewish community that is creating a real sense of interest, if not all of us, if not all of us. I’m worried about the whole of New York City. It’s not just the Jewish community. It’s not just the Jewish community. If you refund the police, everyone is at risk here.”
Mamdani has been widely criticized for his first failure to condemn the phrase “globalization of intifadas,” which many Jews view as a call for violence. Mamdani ultimately reverted his initial unwillingness by saying he discouraged people from using the phrase and told business leaders not to use it.

Feltman called Mamdani a “social media darling” and praised the way he was able to mobilize voters, but ultimately discussing his rise, saying that the education system had committed the incredible injustice “for kids, especially at the university level where we see anti-Unisity explosions.”
Fox News Digital has contacted Mamdani’s comment campaign.
