New York City’s Democratic mayoral candidate Zoran Mamdani reportedly celebrated his recent marriage this week with a three-day exclusive bash in his home country of Uganda, which includes masked military security and a mobile phone jamming system.

According to an exclusive New York Post report, the party took place on private compounds from the Mamdani family in an East African country in a wealthy region other than the capital Kampala.

The socialist candidate fled with illustrator Rama Duwaj, who lived in an apartment in Queens earlier this year.

“Outside Mamdani’s house there were over 20 special forces command unit guards, some masks and a telephone jamming system was set up. “At one gate there were about nine security guards,” they added.

David Marcus: Why is the socialist New York mayoral candidate’s trip to Uganda so surprisingly reasonable?

Last Sunday, he posted on an X-page video that he was “back to Uganda.” I am heading there in my personal abilities to celebrate Rama’s marriage with my family and friends.”

He joked.

On Tuesday, buses, several Mercedes and Range Rover Bus party participants were celebrated.

The revelers enjoyed music, food and dance during the celebration, and when the bash was over, Mamdani’s personal safety reportedly appeared to be carried over when the military guards left.

The celebration simultaneously lamented the death of former Ugandan Supreme Court Judge George Kaniehanba, a neighbor of Mamdani’s family and former Ugandan Supreme Court Judge, who passed away on July 14th.

“People are still mourning,” one person told the post, calling the wedding celebration “insensitive.”

At one point, the street was blocked by the caravan president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni, when he came to the neighbourhood to pay his respects.

The Mamdani family home is on two acres of land with views of Lake Victoria in a wealthy area known as Bhujigahir. Mamdani’s father is a professor at Columbia University, and his mother is a film director.

One of their neighbors includes Godfrey Kilmira, a Ugandan billionaire businessman.

Masked security guards crack down on entrances to compounds that are reportedly having at least three security gates.

In its travel advisory for Uganda, the US State Department urges Americans to “rethink their travels” because of the threat of laws targeting people based on sexual orientation.

Mamdani was born in Uganda, but moved to New York at the age of seven and acquired US citizenship seven years ago.
