California Highway Patrol officials arrested the suspect and two other passengers after a pursuit in Los Angeles County.
CHP confirmed with KTLA that the driver was initially required to speed.
As officers were chased, the suspected vehicle was seen driving on a braking crane to avoid traffic.
The driver later stopped the car on Highway 101 southbound on Vermont Avenue in East Hollywood around 5:30pm but refused to come out, roll the windows or listen to commands.
Officials were seen to divert traffic and eventually closed the Southbound 101 while working to arrest the driver.
Sky5 was overhead, and around 5:50pm, KTLA’s Gil Leyvas reported that he saw officers pull a gun and deploy spike strips around the stopped car.
Approximately 20 minutes after the car first stopped, he saw an officer throwing what looked like a pepper ball in a vehicle, dropping the key to the driver and coming out of the car.
After officers handcuffed the driver, passengers in the suspicious vehicle came out and were ordered to walk backwards with their hands raised towards law enforcement.
Once they were taken into custody, another passenger left the car, this time from behind the vehicle and was taken into custody.
