At least one officer was injured Wednesday night while responding to a call for trespassing in downtown Los Angeles.
Police were called to an apartment building in the 400 block of Sixth Avenue about 6:30pm for a suspected trespassing suspect within Los Angeles Police, which was posted on X by one of the units, Los Angeles Police.
“They went into the apartment and there was an explosion,” police said.
The officers then left the building as the suspect proceeded with the barricade himself in the apartment. A spokesman confirmed with KTLA that officers were injured in the incident and had been transported in unknown conditions.

SWAT teams and bomb troops were called to the scene and some local residents were evacuated as they worked to resolve the situation.
The suspect was taken into custody shortly after 12:30am on Thursday, police confirmed.
The suspect has not been identified, and it is unclear why he first entered the apartment.
The cause of the explosion was also under investigation.
