The day of peaceful protests in downtown Los Angeles turned late Saturday afternoon when law enforcement began ordering thousands of demonstrators to spread out from the areas surrounding the LA Federal Building Complex.

Officers deployed flash bangs and tear gas, and Sky5 captured the moment when officers moved into a massive crowd on foot. The LA Police Department reported that some protesters are “increasingly out of control” and that people are throwing rocks, bricks, bottles and other objects.

The dispersion order covered Alameda Street between Aliso and Temple, and Los Angeles Street between Aliso and Temple. Additionally, LAPD said all on and off-ramps on the 101 highway remain closed between Alameda Street and the 110 highway.

Protesters will meet on Saturday, June 14, 2025, during the “King” protest in response to a series of US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) attacks in Los Angeles. The nationwide “No Kings” on Saturday protested in Los Angeles, with hundreds of places across the United States coinciding with the 250th birthday of the US military, coinciding with President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.

Tens of thousands of protesters from the Los Angeles area went to the streets to protest the Trump administration’s massive deportation policy and the recent recent attacks in California.

A curfew will be in place on Saturday nights at 8pm.
