On the 100th day of President Donald Trump’s second term, China issued a rude challenge to American leaders, releasing a fiery propaganda video declaring it “never kneels.”
Video titled “Never Kneel Down!” was posted on Tuesday, April 29th by the official X-account of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs @MFA_CHINA. The timing is noticeable. This coincided with President Trump’s 100th day in office.
“When the rest of the world stands together in solidarity, the United States is just a small, tied boat,” the AI narration warns of dramatic storm footage and images of war.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the video denounced the US as “forced” and labeled the US tariff strategy as “fatal trap.”

In another ominous line, the narration states: The video includes images of the Korean War and the return of Huawei Cfo Meng Wanzhou in 2021, depicting both as symbols of China’s “resistance.”
Earlier this month, President Trump effectively quarantined China by allowing all other countries to suspend tariffs for 90 days, while imposing a 145% tariff on Chinese imports. Trump’s strategy aims to reward fair trade partners while putting pressure on Beijing to reform.
China retaliated with a 125% tariff on US goods, but many analysts say CCP is operating from a more vulnerable position.

“It’s up to China to escalate because they sell five times more than we sell to them,” Scott Bescent told CNBC on Monday.
CCP’s videos, published in both English and Mandarin, use forceful messages and historical images to portray China as a victim of Western domination. According to a report from WSJ, the video claims: “History proves compromise will not earn you mercy.

A Chinese government video posted on April 29, 2025 uses stylized images of paper tigers carrying a US flag, claiming “all bullies are just paper tigers.” This image coincides with the long-standing theme of the Chinese Communist Party of Japan’s Anti-us propaganda. (@mfa_china/x)
This is not the first time Trump has restrained China. During his first term, he imposed tariffs on more than $360 billion in Chinese goods, citing theft of intellectual property and forced technology transfer. That campaign led to a Phase 1 trade agreement signed in 2020.
Now, Trump’s strategy is to strain China’s economic policymakers.
“Every bully is just a paper tiger,” the AI narrator says, showing the tiger with an American flag on its tail.
