According to Los Angeles police, a 16-year-old boy has been killed and five people were injured at a “flyer party” at a Woodland Hills mansion.
Officers responded to multiple reports of shootings at a large gathering at a mansion in the 5900 block of Winnetka Avenue at 1:30 a.m., police said.
According to Guy Golan, a murder unit in LAPD, between 200 and 300 party participants were gathering at home for a “flyer party,” and it was named after an ad posted on the street. The party was billed as a VIP event.
“Several types of alternating events occurred and multiple shots were fired,” Golan told KTLA-TV.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to KTLA, the suspect was being escorted from the property when he began shooting after an argument with the security guard. The 16-year-old died at the scene. The other victims were five men (ages 19, 21 and 25) and two 34 years old. They were taken to the hospital.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
The house between Hatteras and Oxnard Streets is at the end of a long driveway on the hills of Winnetka Avenue. The 8,000-square-foot “Mega Mansion” is listed on Bookings.com for $2,100 per night. Golan said the house is known for hosting parties, but it is not considered a place in question.
“There’s nothing like this,” he said.
No arrests have been made. Police are talking to witnesses and reviewing surveillance videos. Anyone with information is advised to contact the police.
