(KTLA) A person died and 32 people, including two, were hospitalized in dangerous conditions after 60 highway tour bus crashes in Hacienda Heights on Sunday, May 11, 2025.

The tour bus suffered heavy front-end damage, similar to the windshield crushing, causing it to fall on the shoulder as a result of a collision. A dangerous material troop was sent to the scene to make sure the bus had not leaked fuel.

According to an eyewitness driving westbound 60 at the time of the crash, the situation unfolded “very quickly” and “everyone tried to stop it, but there wasn’t enough time.”

The fact that the crash accident occurred early on Mother’s Day is added to the “catastrophe,” a man named Cesar told Myers an hour after the crash.

“It happened very quickly… there’s a lot of confusion and then there’s a red light,” he said. “It’s going to be very [catastrophic] Especially because it’s Mother’s Day…it’s very sad that I had to start like this. ”

The 60 Westbound expressway will be closed indefinitely between Azusa Avenue and Hacienda Boulevard, but authorities hope to open some lanes by 8am
