Police arrested a man believed to be responsible for multiple machete attacks in downtown Los Angeles early Sunday morning.
The LA Police Department confirmed with KTLA that the initial call came at 12:17am and reported a horrifying machete attack near 11th Avenue and South Grand Avenue.
Officers arrived to find a man in his 60s and suffered from a stab wound that was apparently borne by a machete strike.
Paramedics took the unidentified man to a local hospital, where he was later declared to have died.
While LAPD officials were investigating the scene, the department received another call to report “ambulance disconnection” in a secondary location. LAPD was unable to determine when this call was made.
Officers responded to find a second victim, also suffering from a machete stab wound, located in the Broadway Street and Olympic Boulevard areas. The victim was said to be a man believed to be about 35 years old.

The suspect’s identity has not been released, but authorities said he is most likely in his 20s to 30s, about 6 feet and 2 inches tall.
