Orange County police are investigating multiple reports of cats employed and possibly killed in at least one neighborhood.
“The Santa Ana Police Department is aware of a viral animal cruelty case involving cats in the areas of Sullivan Street and McFadden Avenue,” Bureau X posted Tuesday morning.
Local residents say one man is responsible for taking the cat and believe he is killing some of them.
“There have been multiple incidents of a cat killed in our community, and residents are deeply concerned,” said viewers who sent KTLA images of the man taken from the Nextdoor app.
“We looked at the camera. This guy grabbed a cat from the neighborhood. He tied his legs and seemed to take him around 5pm. He walked down Shelton Street towards McFadden. The cat is black with light brown spots.”
Another post said the man would inject a cat that later died. “Hello! I was near El Sabador Park and my neighbor’s cat was killed by a man who injected some substance.”
The post said the man was wearing a reflex vest and giving him a cat to seduce him.
The person appears to match the suspect’s account sought in the cat theft last month in Westminster, but it is unclear whether the incident is related.
Surveillance video, filmed on March 21, showed the moment the man got Clubber, a 10-month-old Bengal Links cat.
Clubber was eventually returned to his house, but the man was never caught.
