Two Portland men missing since the early hours of Christmas morning have been found dead in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest after searching for Sasquatch, authorities said, likely from exposure and lack of preparation. It seems.
The search for the 59-year-old and 37-year-old men began around 1 a.m. on Christmas Day after family members reported them missing, the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. Authorities said Flock camera footage spotted their car near Willard, Washington.

Over the next three days, 60 volunteer search and rescue workers searched for the pair by ground and air “over difficult terrain and harsh weather conditions.” The bodies were found in a “wooded area” of the forest, and officials said both bodies “appear to have been exposed to radiation due to weather conditions and lack of preparation.”

Gifford Pinchot National Forest is approximately 240 miles northeast of Portland.
Search and rescue efforts included search and rescue teams from the Skamania, Klickitat, Wasco and Hood River sheriff’s offices, as well as Silver Star, Northwest County, Cragglats and the U.S. Coast Guard.

“The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of the loved one lost in this tragic incident,” authorities said.
The men’s names have not been released.
