The 19 suspects allegedly involved in felony and misdemeanor-related crimes have been detained by the Burbank Police Department following a coordinated national operation aimed at disrupting organized retail theft, police said Thursday.
According to Burbank Police, the operation occurred between May 26th and June 1st, with the department working in partnership with the Los Angeles organization’s Retail Crime Association and Cook County attorneys.

The executives worked with several Empire Centre retail loss prevention agents, including Marshall, TJ Max, Walmart, Target, Ray and Urta.
“Detectives and police officers, operating both infiltrating and unified abilities, have witnessed multiple crimes committed, including minor theft, grand theft, robbery and possession of a re-encoded credit card.
Personal information theft,” according to the BPD statement.
Burbank police also took measures across the county, including carrying out searches and arrest warrants, conducting surveillance operations, arresting suspects related to retail theft, repeated thefts, or arresting South American theft groups.
“This initiative highlights the ongoing commitment to combating theft crimes that affect local businesses and communities at the Burbank Police Station, which are essential to promote deterrence.
We dealt with organized retail crimes and repeated offenders,” police said in a statement.
“The Burbank Police Department is grateful for the partnership and collaboration with the Los Angeles Organization’s Retail Crime Association, the Cook County Attorneys Regional Organized Crime Task Force, our retail partners, and all other related allied agencies.”
