Indiana Pacers star Tyrees Halliburton appeared to suffer a serious Achilles injury in the first quarter of the NBA Finals Game 7.
Indiana ruled it as an “injury to the right lower limb,” and said Halliburton would not return to the game. His father, who was still emotionally seen after it happened, told ABC that he was Achilles’ injury.
As he tried to drive to the rim with a hesi in just five minutes in the period, Halliburton fell to the floor and flipped the ball over.
When the Thunder reversed the ball, the camera panned to the other side of the courthouse, allowing us to see Halliburton slap the floor.
Just as Indiana called a timeout after the Oklahoma City bucket, Halliburton was visibly tears and irritated, and needed to be helped from the court without putting weight on his right foot.
The 25-year-old started the game with a Hot Note, scoring nine points in five minutes on three of his four three-point shootings.
Halliburton joined the game playing with the calf tension that suffered in the first half of the series. However, he didn’t go outside any game and continued playing through it.
It marks a devastating end to one of the most memorable playoff runs of all time, both from an individual and team perspective. The Pacers took part in the playoffs, beating Giannis Antetocomo, fifth-placed Milwaukee Bucks and Donovan Mitchell, number one Cleveland Cavaliers, Jalen Branson and the third New York Knicks.
Halliburton won important games in all series. This included the NBA Finals, which surprised the Oklahoma City crowd with pull-up jumpers in Game 1.
Reactions from the NBA world came even more quickly, including Branson, Josh Hart, and Daron Fox to Mitchell, Vince Carter, and Grant Williams.
