Officers announced the arrest of a man who stole packages from a Lakewood home during the holiday season.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lakewood Station posted footage of the arrest on Instagram, including a brief interaction between officers and suspects.
Video taken by investigators shows the suspect handcuffed to the back of a law enforcement vehicle as officers ask him if he knows what he stole.
The suspect replied, “Two packages have arrived.” “It was a nice neighborhood.”

LASD said that thanks to a resident who witnessed the theft and reported it, officers were able to quickly locate the man and recover the stolen items from the vehicle.
The suspect, whose face is blurred in social media videos, has not yet been publicly identified by authorities.
A further search of the man’s vehicle and person also revealed items stolen from a nearby TJ Maxx and suspected methamphetamine, police said.
“The suspect has two prior theft-related convictions and two prior convictions for possession of a controlled substance,” the Lakewood Police Department added.
Details of a man’s theft committed in Lakewood are limited. One of the videos included in the post shows a man running as fast as he could to a package, grabbing it and sprinting away, but authorities have not said when or where this happened. .
The man was eventually arrested on charges of felony petty theft, felony possession of a controlled substance with two prior convictions, and receiving stolen property, authorities said.
“Great job! Keep your eyes peeled,” the station’s Instagram post concluded. “Report any ongoing crimes or suspicious activity in your neighborhood!”
