The Getty Villa on Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades, a Southern California cultural touchstone, is threatened as the Palisades Fire rages through more than 2,900 acres.
Katherine E. Fleming, president and CEO of the J. Paul Getty Trust, said in a statement that the vacation home was immediately closed to all non-emergency personnel Tuesday morning, and the entire property was closed to non-emergency personnel. He said that irrigation has been provided.

“The museum’s galleries and library archives are insulated from smoke by a state-of-the-art air handling system,” the statement said, adding that the gallery’s double-wall construction significantly protects the valuable collections housed in the museum. He added that there is.
