The alleged accomplice in the bombing of a Palm Springs fertility clinic died while being held inside the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, federal authorities said Tuesday.
Daniel Park, 32, was found unresponsive at federal detention facility around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. There, he was in custody for nearly two weeks after being accused of providing serious support to the bombers.
The Federal Prisons Bureau said Park was declared dead after being taken to a local hospital, despite life-saving measures.
Park was in a metropolitan detention center since June 13 after being charged with malicious destruction of property. Park was accused of transporting ammonium nitrate, a chemical commonly used in homemade explosives, to Batkos.
Officials have not stated the cause of death and added that no employees or other detainees have been injured.
Investigators believe that 25-year-old Twentynine Palms’ Bartkus drove a bomb-containing car at an American reproductive center in Palm Springs on May 17th. Berthos explodes a bomb, commits suicide, destroying the fertile clinic building.
Both Park and Burtos shared the views of “anti-Natalists” and “dead” extremists, according to the US Attorney General’s Office for the Central District of California.
