The Palos Verdes Estate Police Station has warned residents about an increase in robbery in the area.
Authorities named the theft “dinnertime robbery” as they happened in the evening time. Police say multiple homes have been targeted since the beginning of the year.
“I’m very stressed. I don’t think this is normal. This is not normal to go through,” said Michelle Lee. “I don’t think it’s just the Palos Verdes estate. I’m afraid of my friends. I’m stressing that I’ll leave the house for even an hour, fearing my neighbor.”
Lee added that the home of one of her close friends was robbed about six months ago.
The Palos Verdes Estate Police Station has released community alerts and crime maps for robbers.
Three robbers broke into the house by smashing windows and entering.
“I’m confident in the police stations around here, and if that’s ongoing, they’ll catch them right away,” said Carlos Cervantes, a resident of Palos Verdes. “I have a watchdog here. Be vigilant.”
Police also say there were four additional robbers they believe were irrelevant.
The two robberies took place in the same house via Opata. Police say they were arrested in both cases.
The number of people Paros Verdes Estate police are looking for in connection with the robbery of the house is still unknown. Police are reminding people to stay aware and report suspicious activity.
For now, neighbors are still on alert and continue to do their part to take precautions.
“When I went on a trip for three weeks, I actually hired someone just to live in my house,” Lee said. “Even if you go for a few days, please let us know your neighbors.”
