Parents were asked to welcome their children after a blackout was forced to close more than 12 schools in San Bernardino on Tuesday.
Power outages occur amid rising temperatures in Southern California and declining air quality. The afternoon height at San Bernardino on Tuesday was expected to approach triple girders.
The hot temperatures combined with the outage have led the San Bernardino city unified school district to close its next schools.
