The parents of the 11-year-old girl are furious after school employees force her to speak her mouth with duct tape.
The child involved, Noemi Hurtado, is a sixth grader at Blair Middle School in Pasadena.
On March 24th, Noemi was having lunch on campus with a friend while she was allegedly punished by a female security guard for making too much noise.
The woman took Noemi to the principal’s office and told the girl to place duct tape in her mouth.
“We got a call that our parents didn’t want to receive,” said Ricardo Hartado, the girl’s father. “She was playing with her friends and playing a little louder. She was asked to stop once, but I don’t think she didn’t, and I think.”
Ricardo reportedly walked her through campus after Noemi was duct tape and even to a nearby high school to “humiliate” her.

The guard escorts Noemi to the next class, where Ricardo says “he has the nerve to tell the teacher that she shouldn’t take off the tapes because she has a hard time quieting.”
Ricardo says that Giulio, the school’s security director, witnessed the incident and intervened. He removed Noemi from class and told her that she was not in trouble before returning to the principal’s office.
The principal confirmed with KTLA that the incident occurred and said the security guards involved had been fired.
“I was in shock,” Ricardo said. “I was trying to check that [my daughter] It was fine, and I wasn’t completely damaged myself. An 11 year old girl should not experience this. ”

The Pasadena Unified School District has issued a statement regarding the incident.
“Pupil safety and welfare are our number one priority. We are aware of allegations involving former alternative security officers. As a result, this individual is taking these concerns so seriously, and is fully working with the Pasadena Police Department.
Noemi’s family said they wanted justice and they wanted security guards to face legal consequences. They then submitted a police report on the incident.
