In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, the Pasadena Humane Society has abandoned adoption fees for large dogs, up until March 18th, giving these often-looking pets a better chance to find a loving home.
Historically, larger and older dogs face more challenges when adopting. That is why Pasadena Human offers this special opportunity to encourage people to consider welcoming large breeds to their families.
Many potential employers are worried about leaving their dog alone due to work commitment. But shelter staff emphasize that loving homes can always be better than cages, no matter how busy they are. Due to frequent overcrowding of shelters, adoption can make a big difference in dog life even if time is limited.
For those who hesitate to adopt due to inexperience, the Pasadena Humane Society provides dedicated adoption counselors to guide the process. Employers will also receive dog food starter bags and discounts at shelter shops as well as additional supplies they require.

Adoption teams can provide guidance on dog history, how to introduce them to new environments, and how to set them up for long-term success, McManus added.
“We still have a handful of stray dogs that have come into the Etonfire, which can be used for adoption over the course of weeks,” McManus pointed out. “I hope this week they will eventually find their ‘pot of gold’! ”
Following the devastating Eton fire, the Pasadena Humane Society played an important role in the rescue operations, protecting as many as 1,100 animals. Now, the organization hopes that the rest of the wandering will find a permanent home.
Pasadena Humane is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
