The Pasadena Little League community is dealing with a sense of violation on Monday after thousands of dollars of supplies were stolen from the storage room.
Pasadena Southwest Little League officials said someone first stopped the key and destroyed the lock to steal all the power and hand tools, leaving baseball gear like a ball, bat, helmet.
“He stole something that was easy to steal and sell,” said Kevin Kohorst of the Pasadena Southwest Little League.
Soon from the equipment room, the snack shed behind the dugout also broke.
“I’ll spend money on it that’s the same guy,” Cohorst said, “There’s no one there at 5am.
The thief’s face was clearly visible in surveillance video footage as he walked through his office. Kohorst said the man tried to steal the iPad and failed.
“This space is more than just a bat or helmet. It’s a place where memories are made, friendships are made, dreams are taken off,” the league said in a social media post.
No arrests were reported on Monday, but Pasadena police said they were identifying the man and taking inspiration.
“Why are you stealing from this small local league? We’re just having fun here,” said William Kohorst, former Little League player and son of Kevin Kohorst.
