Pasadena man has been sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting children all over the United States
Alvaro Maldonado Deza, 40, has been sentenced to 23 years in life in a state prison, Pasadena police announced Tuesday.
In August 2023, a sexual assault investigation, including DEZA, was launched by the Special Victims Unit in the department.
Deza was arrested on June 26, 2024, and searching for his electronic devices revealed thousands of child pornography.
Police also found videos of his sexual assault on numerous children committed during “remote viewing with a boy,” court documents said.
Detectives later identified several young victims in several states across the country. Police believe there will be additional victims living abroad.
On July 10, 2024, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office accused 8 count Deza of indecent and lewd behavior with children under the age of 14. He remained in custody on $1.8 million bail.
On May 8, Deza agreed to a plea bargain and was convicted of three counts of indecent and inflamed conduct with a child under the age of 14. He was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
“In addition to being convicted of the aforementioned charges, the case against Deza is being reviewed by the US Lawyer’s Office,” Pasadena Police said.
No further details have been announced. Anyone with information about the case will be asked to call Pasadena Police at 626-744-4241.
