Pasadena woman pleads guilty to threatening the US consulate in Vietnam

A Pasadena woman admitted to stalking the man, threatening to kill him and his wife, and threatening to bomb the US consulate in Vietnam.

Natalie Nuguen, 39, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of stalking and one count of threat by interstate commerce to kill another person and damaging and destroying the building by fire and explosives.

Nguyen stole a man identified in judicial documents as “Th” and his wife from April 2023 to February 2024, pursuant to the legal agreement. She sent several emails to the man and threatened to kill him and his wife. One email included screenshots of a text conversation about paying $15,000 to a Hitman to kill his wife.

Authorities say she threatened to explode a bomb at the U.S. consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, and sent several emails to staff members who were stole five employees and pretended to be her and his wife.

In an October 2023 email, Nguyen wrote to three government officials at the US Consulate: [sic] I’ll kill everything [expletive] One of you who is delaying the issuance of my wife visa. ”

In January 2024, this time impersonating TH’s wife, Nguyen sent a message to US authorities through an online portal.

Through a message on the US Embassy’s online portal, she also threatened to cause a hand rena bullet around the New Year of the month.

“In this case, no one was physically harmed,” Nguyen’s lawyer, Benjamin P. Lechman, in a statement to the Times on Wednesday.

“This is a case of someone who was suffering from very realistic mental health issues at the time of the violation,” he said. “Nguyen is currently working with talented mental health professionals and with today’s petition, she is responsible for her actions. She is trying to put this episode behind her and move on with her life in a positive way.

“The mental health struggle has impacted a large part of society, and Ms. Nguyen encourages those struggling to seek appropriate treatment as soon as possible,” added Reckman.

Nguyen has been in federal confinement since February 2024, and her sentencing hearing is set for June 18th. She was sentenced to a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison for stalker counting, and up to 10 years in federal prison for threat counting.
