A Pasadena woman admitted to stalking government officials and threatening to bomb the US consulate in Vietnam.
Natalie Nuguen, 39, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one stalking and one count of threats by interstate commerce to kill another person and destroy the building by fire and explosives, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release.
Nguyen stalked one prosecutor who was described as “Th” only for nearly a year in 2023 and 2024, and sent an email to the threat of killing Th and his wife, including screenshots of a text conversation about paying $15,000 to kill Th’s wife.
Nguyen also impersonated Th and his wife in online communications, such as in 2023 when he threatened to bomb the US consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, by pretending to be Th’s wife.
She is also “non-personal”[ed] We[ed] To threaten three consulate employees, “I threaten Will’s employees.” [sic] I’ll kill everything [expletive] One of you who is delaying the issuance of your wife’s visa,” the prosecutor said.
Nguyen impersonated Th’s wife and “sent a message to US authorities through an online portal,” she said, “the device will explode in San Francisco with the US consul in Saigon.”
“Last year, you guys are exploding to cause my separation from my husband. Everything explodes during or after the New Year,” Nguyen added to a message from Th’s wife.
Nguyen, who has been in federal custody since February 2024, is due to be sentenced June 18th.
She faces a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison for stalking and 10 years on threat charges.
