The barricade situation involving a man with a firearm inside a second-floor apartment in Los Angeles’ Vermont-Sluson area ended with a shooting Wednesday night.
Officers responded to a report of a man pointing to a rifle with a passerby in the 6400 block of Figueroa Street around 8:45pm
The man refused to comply with the order to leave the apartment and instead barricaded upstairs, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department posted to X.
The SWAT team responded to the scene, and at one point the robot dog was sent to the building.

“SWAT officials made plans to resolve the situation and then asked the suspect to come out of the apartment, at which point the suspect was seen in a two-storey window with a firearm, causing officers involved in the shooting,” the spokesman said.
In the video, an unidentified man who was shot and left the apartment, wrapped his left hand around a towel or other type of material.
He was taken into custody and taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, police said.
The incident did not cause any injuries to officers or other community members.
