The West Covina homeowner says he is being shaken after he gets in the way and discovers a camera hidden in his front yard.
George Nguyen says he spotted a camera covered in mesh and fake grass while watering the plants on Friday night after noticing a flashing green light near the bushes.
Police say the robbers use hidden cameras that they found as patterns tactics to stalk homeowners’ patterns. Similar cameras have been found in Arcadia, Garden Globes, Alhambra and even Santa Barbara.
Nguyen says he immediately called police after finding a hidden camera outside his home on East Cortez Street. The homeowner’s surveillance camera caught someone walking by the house on Thursday morning, but he says the car blocked the views of the individual.
“Beware at all times. Don’t panic,” said Nguyen, urging residents to be vigilant. “The best thing to do is be vigilant and always check the bushes. There’s always a camera around the house.”
The homeowner has submitted a police report to West Covina police, which is currently investigating the device.
