Officers detained a person standing at the top of a Hollywood sign Saturday afternoon, police confirmed with KTLA.
The Los Angeles Police Department said a call came in about 2:54pm to report a sighting of a person standing at the historic landmark.
Those who were not immediately identified by the public were seen waving a flag promoting a cryptocurrency called the Vigilante Token.
The website’s address, X-handle, company name “Vigilante”, and an image that could become a logo were seen printed on a white flag.

In a post on Friday morning’s announcement to X, the company said, “On February 15th, 2025, we launched the vigilante token in the most viral way we’ve ever seen.”
Vigilante posted a photo of the Hollywood autograph on X on Saturday. Two minutes before Cole appeared in LAPD, there is a caption “Currently…”.
LAPD said the Park Rangers attempted to contact the person and were asked to support the person in the event of an injury, but officers had taken the person into custody by 4pm.
Details are limited, and authorities have yet to clarify any claims individuals may face.
