The shooter was arrested and two women were taken to hospital after being shot at Granada Hills Day Care on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Paramedics responded to a residence with daycare at 17320 W. Firma Courthouse at around 12:30pm, at 12:30pm, at 12:30pm, at 17320 W. Firma Courthouse. The two women were taken to hospital in stable condition, and LAFD will work with Daycare and LA Police to reunite the child with their parents, she said.
LAPD Colonel Kathleen Burns said the shooting was thought to be a target attack that could be motivated by “some kind of domestic violence or domestic violence.”
It is not yet clear whether the filming took place in proximity to the child.
When officers from the LA Police Station arrived on the scene, they found one person suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound, according to a department spokesperson. Information regarding the second patient’s wounds was not available, the spokesman said.
The suspicious gunman fled the scene at Tesla, and officers found the vehicle and arrested him without incident near Balboa Boulevard and Sherman Way – about seven miles from the scene of the shooting.
Burns said the weapons believed to have been used in the shooting had been recovered.
The filming site, Kids Dream Learning Center, is located in a residential area in Granada Hills, and offers programs for toddlers, toddlers and kindergarten children from 8:30am to 4:30pm on weekdays. The center did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The filming took place on daycare property, but it was not immediately clear whether it was indoors or outdoors, or what kind of risk the child was in, Landz said.
