In yet another pizza-related news, LA’s Pizzeria Say (also known as the top pick for pizza in Los Angeles) continues to win a culinary award. This is an influential industry guide with Italian roots, time from 50 top pizzas, and the first guide to the best pizzeria in the world. “William Joe won the multi-grade Pico Robertson pizzeria, scheduled to move to the palm of his hand later this year, earning second place in the 50 Top Pizza USA Guide at the awards ceremony held today at NYC’s Chelsea Market. Last year, the same guide ranked the Pizzeria SEI by number 8. In 2025, the Tokyo-style pizzeria jumped over an astounding six locations and remained the only pizzeria in LA County recognized by 50 top pizzas.
Two other Southern California pizzerias have also created their annual US list of 50 top pizzas. Naldo in Huntington Beach (also has a satellite location in Culver City) ranked 24th in the nation, with Dana Point’s true pizza coming in ninth, making it the top 10. To determine the regional rankings (recent rankings have also declined across Europe), 50 top pizza judges will use anonymous inspectors to sample pizzeria from around the world for high quality doughs, toppings, services and overall experience.
While national guides are naturally less competitive than international ranking lists, it is still quite difficult to receive recognition in a country full of unique local pizza styles. We’re talking about New Haven, Detroit, Chicago, and of course New York style. In that memo, the top spot on the list went to UNA Pizza Napoletana in New York City. Once again, congratulations to True Pizza and Nald’s Pizzeria Sei!
