Officers arrested a suspect in a DUI and stolen vehicle following a pursuit in Los Angeles Friday night, police confirmed to KTLA.
According to Simi Valley Police, officers began pursuing the vehicle around 7:45 p.m., suspecting that the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Police said they tracked the car and determined it was a stolen vehicle from San Diego.
A police officer following the vehicle then attempted to pull over, but the driver took off and began a pursuit.
The pursuit moved onto a nearby freeway, and Los Angeles police quickly rescued him with a blimp.
LAPD continued to pursue the vehicle, eventually entering the West Hollywood area.
Details are limited, but the suspect is believed to have been driving southbound on Highway 101 in a black Chevrolet Camaro before exiting in Silver Lake Friday after 8 p.m.
The driver and passenger jumped out of the car around 8:15 p.m. and fled in separate directions. The Los Angeles Police Department remained overhead.
Police said a passenger, one of the suspects, was taken into custody almost immediately.
The driver entered the backyard of a residence after Sky5 witnessed him throw what appeared to be a cell phone over a fence and into another yard.

Police said the driver was later taken into custody after a brief search in the area of Edgemont Street and Melrose Avenue in East Hollywood.
Initial reports said the driver was eventually found hiding in a trash can, but police did not immediately confirm this detail.
Police said they suspect the two men are burglary suspects because there was a residential burglary in Simi Valley shortly before the chase, but there is no connection at this time.
Simi Valley police did not immediately release the identities of either suspect.
