The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a collision between a Mercedes-Benz driver and a group of cyclists in Los Angeles that was posted on social media over the weekend.
The video, posted to Instagram on Sunday, shows the driver accelerating through a crowd of cyclists on Olympic Boulevard, narrowly missing the cyclist, and at one point veering into oncoming traffic to bypass the cyclist. has been done. LAPD responded to a call at Olympic Boulevard and Highland Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, but the caller was not at the scene when officers arrived, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Rosario Cervantes said. It is said that
“We are aware of the video footage, but detectives are still investigating exactly what happened,” Cervantes said. “There shouldn’t be that many bikes on the road blocking traffic, so it’s not safe, but we don’t know exactly what happened.”
At 1:34 p.m., officers received another call about vandalism to a vehicle at Wilshire Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, Cervantes said. The driver said he was attacked by multiple cyclists and his car was destroyed. Detectives are investigating the incident and are working to identify those involved.
“There are many parties involved in this incident, so we are trying to determine how many people were involved and what happened,” Cervantes said.
