LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Police are working to identify a young bicyclist and the driver of a Mercedes-Benz involved in a road rage incident over the weekend.
Video posted on social media shows the driver of a Mercedes swerving erratically through a group of dozens of cyclists who had taken over Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles’ Mid-Wilshire neighborhood on Saturday. It shows how it goes.
There were several near misses as cyclists jumped out of the way of excited motorists.

Local residents told KTLA’s Kimberly Chen that street hijackings and crashes involving bicyclists are becoming more common in the area.
“They’re going to literally take over intersections. Sometimes they’ll do circles and donuts… They just take over and create a dangerous environment for drivers on the road,” Chris Cunningham said. said. “I’ve seen drivers get angry. Avoid around them. Get to the point where you attack them.”
Some time after the first video was recorded, cyclists appear to have caught up to the vehicle in the parking lot. A second video shows young people jumping into a Mercedes, smashing the windows and chasing away a man believed to be the driver.
It is unclear whether there were any injuries.
Last September, a group of about 50 teenagers on bicycles ransacked a 7-Eleven in the Beverly Hills neighborhood, a short distance from the scene of Saturday’s street assault. Police said some of the teens’ parents eventually turned them in.
