Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a fake bomb threat at former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Brentwood mansion on Thanksgiving morning before responding safely.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department could not confirm whether the department responded to Schwarzenegger’s home, but said that around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Tony Brent, where Schwarzenegger lived. He said there had been a call about a suspicious package on the same block in the Wood neighborhood. Former Mr. Universe lives here.
“It was determined that there was no evidence of explosives,” Los Angeles Police Department Officer Kevin Terzes said of the police response. The bomb threat was first reported by TMZ, which characterized it as a “swatting” incident in which the perpetrator initiated emergency law enforcement action against the victim under false pretenses.
Terzes could not provide information about who made the call. A spokesperson for Schwarzenegger declined to comment.
A person familiar with the situation said Schwarzenegger was at the gym at the time of the incident but was not authorized to speak publicly.
Mr. Schwarzenegger, a longtime Brentwood resident, made headlines last year when he took it upon himself to repair several potholes in his neighborhood, an act that was not approved by the city. countered that at least one of the holes currently being filled was a service effort.
