A Fullerton police officer fatally shot a man who swings a pellet gun in law enforcement Saturday night, the department said.
According to the Fullerton Police Department, officers were warned about an armed man threatening his family and W. Compatible with the 700 block of OrangethorpeAvenue. There, the officer learns that a 19-year-old man had waving a knife at his father.
At the scene, officers gave a man who complied with the suspect’s explanation of the order. The individual refused to cooperate with law enforcement, and at one point lifted the shirt and “removed what appeared to be a handgun from his waistband,” police said. In response, the police shot the man.
After the shooting, officers took life-saving steps to the man until paramedics arrived. The man whose identity has not been revealed eventually died at the scene.
A pellet gun was found at a scene near the suspect. The name of the officer who shot him was not announced.
