The popular whittie swap meet, which usually takes place every Sunday, was cancelled this week due to possible ice activity.
Officials at the event confirmed the closure on Facebook and sent an email to the vendor, but some didn’t receive it in time and still showed up in the car park at a high school in California to set it up, but were told to leave.

“It’s sad that we live this way,” said Roman Romano of Whittier Swap Meat Bender. “I’ve never done something like this where people live in fear because people have to be careful of the ice.”
The hundreds of vendors who gather at Kalhi every weekend are hoping to resume their tournament next Sunday.
