First on FOX: The Oklahoma Department of Education (OSDE) is partnering with Trump Education’s non-profit Pragel to develop a “America First” assessment of new teachers entering the state.
The state Department of Education is currently working with Progeru to develop an assessment of teachers who will “relocate from states with progressive education policies” to obtain a license to teach in Oklahoma. According to a news release on the new assessment, the new assessment will assess educators on three main aspects: knowledge of the US Constitution, “understanding American exceptionalism,” and “understanding basic biological differences between boys and girls.”
The goal of the new assessment is to ensure that educators are consistent with OSDE’s commitment to education “rooted in truth, patriotism and core values” and aims to instill “pride” in the country’s history among students.

“We’re sending a clear message. Oklahoma schools are not a heaven of awakened agendas pushed in places like California or New York,” Principal Ryan Walters said. “If you want to teach here, it’s better to know the Constitution, respect what makes America great, and understand basic biology. We’re not activists, we’ll be fighting teeth and claws to raise a generation of patriots and keep left-wing propaganda out of the classroom.”
Osde said he is still assessing which state of origin is required, but he said it includes California and New York. The exact configuration of the test is still under development, but will be finalized in the coming weeks. According to OSDE, the evaluation will be implemented immediately after completion.
“I’m excited to join Oklahoma and answer the urgent calls of my parents to indoctrinate meaningless awakening,” said Marissa Strait, CEO of Pragel. “This assessment ensures that extreme left ideologues stop hurting children and that teachers defend America’s greatness and future potential.”

Fox News Digital reached out to several Oklahoma Teachers Unions for comment. The Oklahoma Association of Professional Educators has returned, but they declined to comment, citing the fact that details of this new teacher assessment have not yet been notified. The National Association of Educators’ Oklahoma branch also declined to comment.
OSDE’s new assessment for new teachers is not the first reform Walters has led over the past few months to ensure students receive pro-American education in the state. About six months ago, Walters released the standard for the updated social studies standard aimed at strengthening citizenship and constitutional research across all grades “parent families, in favor of pro-American values.”

Under Walters’ leadership, OSDE also enacted a ban on lifelong education for serious sexual misconduct and violations of other professional standards, took steps to address anti-Semitism, and moved lunch payments for all students across the state from the administrative budget.
