President-elect Trump has announced a series of cabinet appointments as the January 20th inauguration approaches and Senate confirmation begins.

President Trump has nominated Leo Terrell, a former Fox News contributor and civil rights lawyer, to serve as senior adviser to the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Justice Department.

“He will be working with Harmeet K. Dhillon, a fellow Californian and an excellent candidate for the position of Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Department of Justice,” President Trump said. “Leo is a highly respected civil rights attorney and political analyst. He received his law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and has defended many high-profile cases throughout his incredibly successful career. I did.

“Leo will be a great advocate for the American people, and we will definitely make America great again!”

In an announcement Thursday night, President Trump announced his choice of Christine Toretti as ambassador to Sweden. He said Toretti was a “great businesswoman, philanthropist, public servant and woman on the RNC committee.”

“She is the chairman of S&T Bancorp and a former board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Pittsburgh,” Trump wrote. “Kristin was a tireless supporter of important causes as a board member of the International Medical Corps, former chair of the Andy Warhol Museum, NCAA Foundation board member, founding board member of the Gettysburg Foundation, board member and chair of the Sarah Scaife Foundation, Pennsylvania. He is a recipient of the state’s Ann B. Anstein Excellence in Public Service Series and the state of Arizona’s Dodie Londen Excellence in Public Service Series.

President Trump also announced that veteran Sam Brown will be the next deputy secretary for memorial affairs at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

“Sam is an American hero, a Purple Heart recipient, and a successful businessman from Nevada who has dedicated his life to serving America,” President Trump said in a statement. “He fearlessly demonstrated his love for our country in the Army, leading troops in combat in Afghanistan and, after honorably retiring as a captain, helping veterans access emergency medicine.

“Sam will continue to serve our great country in the VA and will work tirelessly to put America’s veterans first and remember all who served.”

The nomination was made as January 20 approaches and President Trump is selecting members of his cabinet.

The Republican-controlled US Senate will soon begin hearings on President Trump’s cabinet nominees.

If West Virginia Sen.-elect Jim Justice is sworn in in late January and Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine appoints a senator to fill Vice President-elect Vance’s seat, Republicans will have 53 seats in the Senate over Democrats. will hold 47 seats.
