Newly inaugurated President Donald Trump has signed an executive order calling for the United States to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO).

In 2020, President Trump started the ball rolling toward disengaging the United States from the United Nations agency, but President Joe Biden reversed course after taking office in 2021.

“The United States intends to withdraw from the WHO. The President’s letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, signed on January 20, 2021, rescinding the United States’ July 6, 2020 withdrawal notice is rescinded,” Trump’s executive order said. declares.

The U.S. Senate on Monday voted 99-0 to confirm Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) as secretary of state. Rubio voted in person before resigning from the Senate.
