President-elect Trump on Tuesday shared a map showing Canada as part of the United States, again suggesting Canada should be added as the nation’s 51st state.
President Trump shared two posts on his social media platform Truth Social on Tuesday night. One post had a map of the United States and Canada with “United States” written on both sides, and the other had the United States and Canada covered in American flags.
“Oh Canada!” he wrote in one post.
The president-elect has been pushing for Canada’s addition to the United States as recently as early Tuesday.

“Canada and the United States. It’s really going to be something,” President Trump said at a news conference at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. “They should be a nation.”
On Monday, the president-elect claimed in a social media post that “many people in Canada love being our 51st province.”
What President Trump says about Canada becoming the 51st state
“The United States can no longer suffer from the huge trade deficits and subsidies that Canada needs to survive,” he wrote on Truth Social.
“Prime Minister Justin Trudeau knew this and resigned. If Canada merged with the United States, there would be no tariffs, significantly lower taxes, and complete security from the constant threat of Russian and Chinese shipping all around us.” ” he added. “What a wonderful country we will become if we all work together!!!”

Trudeau, who announced Monday that he would step down as Canada’s prime minister once a replacement has been named, said Tuesday that there was no way Canada would ever join the United States.
“There is no snowballing chance that Canada will become part of the United States,” Trudeau told social media platform X. “The workers and communities of both countries are each other’s greatest trade and security partners. “We are benefiting from this,” he said.
President Trump has trolled Canada in recent weeks, bringing up the idea of Canada becoming the 51st state and posting a doctored photo of himself standing next to a Canadian flag atop a mountain.

The president-elect has also mocked Prime Minister Trudeau, repeatedly calling him “the governor.” Additionally, President Trump is threatening to impose huge tariffs on Canada.
President Trump has also called on Denmark to sell the North Atlantic island of Greenland to the United States.
