President-elect Trump boarded a special Air Force plane Saturday afternoon for his historic return to Washington, D.C.
President Trump, his wife Melania and their youngest son Barron departed from West Palm Beach, Florida, on a trip to the nation’s capital, waving to the crowd as they climbed the stairs.
A few hours later, the group will arrive in Sterling, Virginia, where President Trump will host an evening reception and fireworks show at Trump National Golf Club.
President Trump’s daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner also joined the group in an Air Force special aviation mission plane.

On Sunday, President Trump will attend a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery and a “Make America Great Again” rally, followed by a candlelit dinner.
The inauguration will take place at noon Monday in the Capitol Rotunda due to frigid temperatures in the area. Afterwards, Trump, the second president in history to be elected non-consecutively, is scheduled to deliver his inaugural address.

Hours before the Trump family boarded the plane, thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Washington, D.C., to protest on Saturday.
The People’s March was originally called the Women’s March and had three meeting locations, each championing a different cause.
Some topics included “gender justice,” democracy and immigration, and local issues in Washington.

Demonstrators held posters that read “feminists vs. fascists” and “people over politics,” Fox News Digital reported.
